The Global Product Data Services is a newly formed team in the Payments organization under Customer Experiences and Technology. Its vision is to “Provide Enterprise Product Data at lower cost and better quality”. To achieve this vision, we are looking for people with a passion and curiosity to solve customer problems with data. The internal stakeholders for the Program include but are not limited to PayPal Inc.’s Product Teams, Accounting and Finance, Sales, Risk, Customer Service, Treasury and Strategy Teams. Our External stakeholders include Regulators, Customers, Third Party Service Providers and Banks.

The Position is for a Business Systems Analyst to work on the Real time data integration hub with Transaction State Management. This involves working across PayPal and its subsidiaries to ingest payments, contextual and end to end transaction state data into an Operational Data Store for downstream analytics by multiple stakeholders.

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for understanding the end to end payments data flow, and working with downstream users to understand the use cases for this data. He/She should do a gap analysis and build a data mapping to support the use cases.

There will be four pillars of activities in this initiative. They are the following:

A Real time enterprise wide data integration hub (iHub) Real time transaction state instrumentation Near Real Time Operational Data Store First line Data Governance

This position will work on the implementation of 1, 2 and 4.

Position Summary: The position is in PayPal’s Technology group. The team builds and supports data platforms and solutions for the company. The position will report to Lead Product manager of iHub.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Can triage and resolve data / process issues
  • Ability to understand data and map to a use case.
  • Ability to do gap analysis and identify the impact
  • Understand basic data modeling concepts
  • Good understanding of data processing, data structure optimization and design for scalability
  • Excellent communication and team player skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful delivery of solutions.
  • Ability to multi task and manage priorities
  • Good understanding of database principles and SQL beyond just data access.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field or equivalent
  • 5+ years in high technology, internet services.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentation experience to large and diverse audiences.
  • Seasoned experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with Jira, Agile methodologies
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Payments knowledge is a huge plus
  • Experience with Data Products/solutions a plus.
