Job Duties: The Business Systems Analyst is a post-sales position that focuses on individual clients, analyzing their business needs, and implementing Edifecs’ solutions purchased by that client. The Business Systems Analyst will generally be involved in requirements analysis and definition, functional specification creation, end user training and providing guidance on process re-engineering during implementation of Edifecs’ products at client sites. This includes interviewing business and IT stakeholders, reverse engineering specifications based on existing implementations, creating flow diagrams and charts, setting up trading partners, trade agreements and relationships, defining rules for transaction validation and other such analysis activities to fully implement an Edifecs solution based upon a client’s specific needs. The Business Systems Analyst will capture EDI Trading partner details and configure in Edifecs products. The Business Systems Analyst will be the primary Client Services’ analysis resource and will interface with the client’s business users, technical users and operations support resources. Duties can range from delivering product training to new client specific requirements, documentation, system configuration, and deployment. The role involves client coordination and communication as well as a high functional understanding of Edifecs’ solutions as well as the transactions that flow through this position.  Must be willing to travel as needed. Brief intermittent trips within the U.S. to client sites may be required up to 75%. No international travel.

 

Job Requirements:Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, plus 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the healthcare industry as an Analyst, Integration Consultant, or related occupation, including:

  • 5 years of experience in creating trading partner setup, analyzing transaction formats and applying custom validation rules and other routing rules;
  • 5 years of experience in creating maps for transforming transactions from one format to another;
  • 5 years of experience in creating functional specifications, technical specifications, deployment instructions, operations guides and other systems documents;
  • 5 years of experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) mapping, EDI analysis or healthcare transaction processing; 
  • 5 years of experience in using software life-cycle methodologies such as waterfall, agile-scrum in developing products and IT applications; and
  • 5 years of experience in using software engineering tools for configuration management, defect tracking, unit testing, system testing, build and deployment.

                                                                                             

Alternate Requirements:  Master’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, plus 3 years of experience in the healthcare industry as an Analyst, Integration Consultant, or related occupation, including:

  • 3 years of experience in creating maps for transforming transactions from one format to another;
  • 3 years of experience in creating functional specifications, technical specifications, deployment instructions, operations guides and other systems documents;
