Job Overview

We are seeking a Business Solutions Senior PM to be responsible for leading all aspects of complex solution development and will require continuous collaboration, influence, delegation, follow-up, negotiation, and constructive confrontation with large groups of SMEs, functional leads, senior and executive management.  Duties will include:

  • Routinely serves as the business owner for new solutions where the ultimate business owner(s) will be defined as an outcome of the project

  • Mentors other business solution project managers as assigned

  • Works directly with functional leaders to support strategic planning and alignment to business unit initiatives and over-arching strategy

  • Supports department efforts to prioritize projects across the portfolio

  • Collaborate with counterparts in IT and other business units across the enterprise to ensure seamless integrated solutions

  • Project manage all aspects of strategic solutions for the enterprise, including both technology and non-technology based initiatives

  • Deliver 100% of project scope to quality standards within agreed upon schedule and budget

  • Create and maintain detailed project plans; clearly articulating work breakdown structures of deliverables by phase, activity, and task; with role assignments and estimates to complete on each task

  • Partner with subject matter experts and functional owners to identify all resources required to execute your plan, negotiate and place resource requests and manage the resource plan for your projects

  • Partner with finance to form the business case and measure financial performance over the life of your project(s)

  • Ensure timely execution of project tasks and update estimates to complete frequently

  • Manage changes to scope, schedule, and cost using integrated change control and appropriate verification techniques

  • Keep the project plan current and accurate for all team members to reference regularly

  • Set and manage expectations of stakeholders and team members in accordance with your project plan, aligning to a common understanding by all

  • Record detailed business outcomes, constraints, and assumptions in order to establish project objectives, deliverables, and the project charter

  • Conduct kick-off meetings with all key stakeholders in order to announce the start of a project, review the overall project plan and gain consensus

  • Monitor, control and report on project performance metrics; measuring progress of the project, identifying, and quantifying any variances to plan, and communicate any corrective actions to appropriate stakeholders

  • Develop and implement the project communication plans to address the needs of all functional roles within your project organization

  • Identify and document project risks, assumptions, and constraints on a frequent basis using historical data, expert judgment, and other methods to understand project limitations and mitigation tactics



  • STEM Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experiencepreferred
  • PMP or equivalent certification a plus
  • IT Project Management and/or experience deploying technology-based solutions a plus
  • Central Laboratory and/or Clinical Trial industry experience highly preferred


Minimum Required:

  • 10 - 15 Years of full-time business project management, or equivalent professional experiencepreferred
  • A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
