This position is specialized in that it requires an individual to: 1) Be proficient in their knowledge of the respective MGM Resorts International business functions with an aptitude for understanding information technology as well as the systems germane to the identified business area and be able to communicate, in understandable business terms, technology capabilities/solutions to satisfy the needs of the respective business function; 2) Matrix management of the various information technology applications technical functions and enterprise services, such as integration, information management, project management, testing to deliver solutions in support of the candidate’s business function; And, 3) Translate business needs into understandable technology requirements to ensure the solutions delivered support candidate’s respective business function needs

  • Partnership with respective business partners and their senior leadership.
  • Conceptualize and define the strategy for major business applications.
  • Management of product lifecycle for enterprise-wide applications including service providers, vendors, etc.
  • Communicates the roadmap, plans, product status, and direction to the business and IT leadership.
  • In-depth knowledge of MGM business and application functions for specific lines of business.
  • Practical business knowledge of IT.
  • Portfolio Management of line of business and applications
  • Identifies and develops new processes that can be augmented by technology to improve capabilities that support respective business function.
  • Provides technology and business conceptual subject matter expertise for the implementation of key programs/projects, new capabilities, enhancements, updates, etc. in support of business and application roadmaps.
  • Lead new product evaluation through RFPs and RFIs. Analyzes technical capabilities and new market product offerings to determine fit and appropriateness for business.
  • Maintains awareness of current trends, market conditions, and demographic data as they pertain to the development of new capabilities and offerings to lift respective business function’s competitive stance.
  • Identifies opportunities to make technology improvements at MGM through innovation, proofs-of-concept, and pilots while ensuring fit and appropriateness prior to corporate commitment.
  • Contributes in the creative development of solutions to support respective business function’s needs.
  • Identify opportunity to reduce application overhead including elimination or consolidation of applications where appropriate and with well-defined business benefits.
  • Works with IT operations to understand product performance, systemic issues and root cause, and makes recommendations to multiple organizations to drive overall improvement.
  • Manages the vendor relationship for the key product vendors including negotiation of contracts, roadmap, level of investment, project and operational costs, vendor performance, ability to meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Reinforces department goals and vision and continually implements and communicates the strategy.
  • Understands and abides by the Company’s business practices, policies, and philosophies.
  • Perform other job related duties as requested.

Required:

  • Four year College degree in Business or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 6 years relevant work experience.
  • At least 4 years previous experience in a management position.
  • Specialized expertise in core MGM business functions such as marketing, finance, retail, casino, hotel, food and beverage, etc.
  • Previous experience with leading large scale initiatives.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to lead and mentor a team.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in project management and/or information technology.

  • Master’s degree in Business or a related field.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
