The Business Sales Advisor reports directly to the Newell Brands Sr. Supply Chain Manager with a dotted line report to the Pure Fishing Customer Team Lead. 

The priority of the role is to identify, direct, and align the operational resources and requirements to successfully/profitably manage the account/channel supply chain and sales analytics needs.

Position requires a fundamental understanding of the customer(s) replenishment procedures, supply chain disciplines (such as inventory and promotion management), CPFR, S&OP, Retail Link, direct import, logistics, forecast/demand planning, order/product flow, item setup, POS analytics, and customer buying strategies.

The advisor must be able to effectively recognize supply chain or sales improvement areas, KPIs and successfully communicate across the organization to secure the deployment of activities which facilitate sales growth, profitability gains, customer-service metrics improvement and reputational capital gains. 

Key Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Management Support – The BSA provides ongoing guidance and support to the Pure Fishing Walmart Team regarding forecasting direction, supply chain issues, freight management, transportation trends, capacity updates, and a wide variety of operational/supply chain inputs to support the business development efforts. This leader will play an integral role in supporting and developing line review presentations and key updates for buyers and executive merchandising leaders.

Replenishment – The BSA is a primary point of contact with the customer for replenishment of Pure Fishing business. The BSA will be responsible for aligning resources and directing activities such as: supply chain reporting customer KPIs, root cause analysis, inventory trends. The BSA will examine the impact of customer inventory tactics/policies on shipments and existing inventory goals (both with the customer and internally).  The BSA will reduce the cost to serve through distribution, transportation, lead-time management and order profile management. 

Distribution & Transportation Leadership –

The BSA is designated as a customer/channel primary subject matter expert on distribution & transportation topics and order flow execution. As such, the account of business team utilizes this person to identify key improvement opportunities and customer alignment opportunities to minimize the cost of moving product within the Pure Fishing network and within the customer network.

Key projects may include recommendations and analysis for load planning for key events, optimizing cube capacity, lead-time reduction, identifying alternative shipment modes, 3PL services and a variety of other solutions which may optimize Pure Fishing’s and the customer's freight or distribution costs.

This advisor will routinely share best practices with other Newell Brands business segments in order to drive ongoing reduction of the cost-to-serve activities.


Aligns with customer and corporate demand team members to identify and interpret the key demand signals and the corresponding impact on customer inventory positions. The BSA translates this information clearly and articulately to the business segment demand planning teams.

The BSA understands forecasting complexities, sources of variability and is successful managing vast amounts of data and aligning resources to support the variations in customer demand. Requires working knowledge of CPFR and S&OP practices.

Frequent contact with customer replenishment and planning teams should be a primary business objective to address promotional event planning, modular exit strategies, new item introductions and modular updates.

The leader will closely align and collaborate routinely with business segments to ensure the demand planning processes are effective and improving the customer service metrics.

Sales Support

The BSA will utilize Walmart’s Retail Link data to prepare and present recommendations that drive sales, present sales opportunities, improve in-stock, right-size inventory, and improve forecast accuracy.

Lead efforts to drive results through the CPFR process from forecasting POS to DC/Store replenishment. Lead the collaborative relationship with Walmart Replenishment Manager that positions Pure Fishing as the Supplier of Choice. Help lead the monthly collaborative meetings with Walmart. 

Use POS history, POS forecast, Inventory DOS targets, and Store/DC Inventory position to anticipate Pure Fishing’s monthly shipment volume. Collaborate with the Pure Fishing Sales Team to integrate these insights to the business plan. Develop sales & replenishment strategies to maintain high in-stocks on key strategic items.

Identify opportunities through Pure Fishing’s Cost to Serve model to streamline product flow and drive waste reduction. Work very closely with Sales, Customer Service and the Forecast/Sourcing Team to drive high on time performance that helps the team meet and exceed OTIF Goals.

Provide event stewardship for new product introductions, product conversions, promotional events, and unsaleable returns.  Present findings and recommendations to mid-level and senior level (internal and external) managers and executives

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree, Business background preferred

Work Experience Requirements:

• 5+ years Walmart/Mass/Club business experience marked with significant experience addressing/resolution customer supply chain proceedings or demand planning tasks. 
• High level of proficiency in executive level communication. Strong presentation skills and ability to provide professional analysis to executive leadership at our customers and within Pure Fishing
• Proficient in MS Office Suites with particularly strong abilities with Excel, Retail Link
• Demonstrated communication and teamwork abilities.
• Excellent organizational and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical skills and sound financial acumen
• Customer Service focused
• SAP – APO and BEX experience a plus.
