The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is the primary liaison between the business (S&AM) and Technology.  In this role, the BRM is responsible for day-to-day oversight and management of custom client enhancements within Technology and serves as a trusted advisor for Technology specific products and services.  Working with a Sr. BRM or directly with clients, account teams and technical analysts cross-functionally across the Technology organization the BRM will help conduct impact analysis and assist in defining client intent and scope.  Partnering with S&AM Client Portfolio and PP&E teams on a large scale is critical for end-to-end management of complex projects. 


  • Works directly with internal & external clients on scope and intent for custom enhancements
  • Participates and performs initial impact analysis on custom client enhancements within the Triage forums to identify Technology downstream impacts on functional areas and or systems
  • Understands client priorities and provides leadership to bring priority items to the applicable funding boards for proper business justification and Technology funding
  • Aligns pre-work activities and defines/creates initial project charters (if need be) on behalf of the intake process
  • Supports Technology estimation process, ensuring intake leads have the details required for an accurate estimate
  • Facilitates cross-application coordination for complicated large scale projects
  • Assists in driving market facing Technology strategies via the Strategic Business Framework, Client Experience and 20/20
  • Proactively provides project status to S&AM via client communications and meetings
  • Coordinates escalation and resolution as a single point of contact
  • Is a persuasive communicator, has excellent facilitation and presentation techniques and is comfortable presenting to management 
  • Effectively collaborates and influences leadership across the Technology organization; enables broad resources and has large network of subject matter experts
  • Leverages broad base of knowledge within the BSA role, has the ability to understand multi-functional impacts and can make/implement recommendations on solutions while mitigating risks
  • Works with minimal guidance from management to plan, resource and execute against goals and plans; exercises independent judgment and decision making abilities
  • Understands and considers the business implications of the application and communicates with impacted groups


  • BA/BS degree in Information Systems or related field and 4–6  years relevant experience or MA/MS with 2–4 years relevant experience
  • Microsoft application software (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio)
  • Conceptual knowledge of Technology procedures and practices; experience with Agile system development methodologies
  • Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and meet project deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with business and other IT leaders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities; communicate with individuals at all levels of an organization.
