Position Description

The D&CS Manager of Business Operations and Governance will be responsible for supporting all aspects of business operations and governance activities for the Ally Bank Deposits & Consumer Strategy team.

This role will assist in establishing and enforcing governance practices, establishing new work flow processes and controls, program prioritization, and attainment of established objectives. The Manager will also coordinate with leaders on the Deposits & Consumer Strategy team as well as business and technology leaders to ensure activities progress according to schedule.

Job Responsibilities

  • From an operational perspective, ensure team has what they need to be successful in carrying out their day jobs and achieving objectives
  • Coordinate team deliverables for business reviews and other meeting routines
  • Manage, and improve upon, governance routines
  • Project management support for larger team efforts to ensure efficient execution and completion
  • Create and maintain mechanism to track team projects/analyses/outputs; assist with prioritization as needed
  • Participate in certain business line risk management activities
  • Assist team with adherence to processes and controls; periodic reviews to ensure compliance
  • Assist with documenting and maintenance of team desktop procedures
  • Management team's annual budget for travel, data purchases, vendor expenses and ensure appropriate allocation to lines of business
  • Support team vendor management activities
  • Assist with team new hire onboarding program
  • Ad hoc support for Deposits Pricing & Competitive Intelligence team as needed


  • 6 plus years' experience in financial services, with specific focus on consumer products
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate tasks amongst a number of individuals and gather consensus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to facilitate large meetings and communicate with executive audiences
  • Experience in proactively developing and managing strategic partnerships with internal and external partners
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Skill & experience in managing large complex projects or aspects of large complex projects with significant technology change
  • Must be a self-starter with strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills; ability to work with complex concepts
  • Advanced skills with Excel & PowerPoint
