Overview:

The Business Manager will work full-time at an Electric Generation Station in Texas, primary to lead the optimization of business efforts at the facility. A qualified candidate should have experience with all business components: purchasing, insurance, request for proposals, capital evaluation, contract management, compliance audits and financial analysis.

Our client wants to hire a professional who is highly motivated, a self-starter willing to take on new challenges, someone who has exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to business excellence, and understanding of financialreporting and analysis. Also, excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex requirements, and the willingness to learn on the job and identify growth areas with limited direction.

Role:

·       Lead the insurance program; provider selection, claims management, etc.

·       Ensure compliance with the purchasing requirements

·       Conduct request for proposals and vendor selection

·       Contract management

·       Analyze and evaluate capital project and other purchase decisions

·       Perform financial analysis and develop recommendation for improvements

·       Support changing compliance requirements and evolving business needs

·       Manage communications with certain outside vendors

·       Assist with budget preparation, analysis and review

·       Develop policies and procedures as necessary to assist on financial matters and purchase transactions

·       Manage the process to track, measure and report results on business initiatives

·       Prepare and perform non-regulatory compliance audits

·       Understand financial and accounting reporting

·       Assist and support all internal and external audits

·       Assist and supportother office professionals with a wide variety of operational issues

  

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

·       Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing financial and purchasing processes

·       Experience in contract negotiations

·       Experience with contract management and compliance

·       Understanding of insurance programs

·       Knowledge of purchasing cycle (from RFPs through contracting)

·       Basic understanding of electric utility operations a plus

·       Ability to see task through with minimal guidance

·       Strong technical and analytical skills; including advanced Excel

·       Ability to convert technical data into written reports and presentations

·       User experience of Maximo and/or Microsoft Dynamics preferred
