Responsibilities

Manage administrative and operational functions for the Launch Systems Division. Responsibilities include financialbudgets, financial controls, contract compliance, facility requirements, procurement of equipment and services, property management, administrative services and support, communications activities, and security and safety. The role requires considerable latitude for judgment, discretion, resourcefulness, and initiative.  

 

 

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Integral member of the Division’s management team; significant contributor to decision making regarding business-related processes and activities, and often leads implementation.
  • Develop and manage financial processes for the Division including budgetforecasting, execution, controls, procurement activities, and labor hours review.  Budget items include program manpower, internal research, overhead, and capital equipment.
  • Ensure consistency of administrative and operating practices; establish and manage administrative and financial operations to optimize compliance with contracts and corporate policies and practices and attainment of Division strategic goals; serve as primary liaison with service organizations.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers to identify and secure manpower allocation and funding.
  • Prepare and analyze detailed weekly and ad hoc reports for management and staff.
  • Identify and facilitate procurement of equipment and services necessary to accomplish programmatic objectives; coordinate and track Special Purpose Plant Equipment (SPPE) for main programs such as Spacelift Telemetry Acquisition and Reporting System (STARS).
  • Manage facility requirements for staff at multiple geographically-dispersed customer facilities including office space planning; coordinating facilities/equipment maintenance and repair, physical moves, and other requirements. 
  • Establish, coordinate, and facilitate communications designed to enhance exchange of information throughout the organization. Serve as primary liaison with service organizations.
  • Provide support to the SSG Strategic People Partner (human resources representative) as requested, and track rewards budgets and headcount targets.
  • Ensure adherence to security and safety practices throughout the organization; manage development, maintenance, and testing of the Division Business Continuity Plan. Also, coordinate security and safety training with the Air Force customer. 
  • Lead administrative support team. Communicate organizational and corporate processes, identify and encourage training opportunities, and provide mentoring and guidance.
  • Serve on corporate or cross-organizational committees, task forces and study groups as required.
  • Perform special projects as required.

Qualifications

Required for Level 2

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and a minimum of Eight (8) or more years of progressively responsibleexperience in accounting, business or financial management.
  • Current SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one. 
  • Experience with corporate financialbudgeting, including program manpower, internal research, overhead, SPPE and capital equipment
  • Experience with facilities office space planning and personnel moves.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Business Warehouse, knowledge management and collaboration tools, and purchase requisition tools.
  • Ability to anticipate need for, develop, and implement business processes and reports to keep management informed of financial status. 

 

Required for Level 3

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and a minimum of Twelve (12) or more years of progressively responsibleexperience in accounting, business or financial management.
  • Current SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one. 
  • Experience with corporate financialbudgeting, including program manpower, internal research, overhead, SPPE and capital equipment
  • Experience with facilities office space planning and personnel moves.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Business Warehouse, knowledge management and collaboration tools, and purchase requisition tools.
  • Ability to anticipate need for, develop, and implement business processes and reports to keep management informed of financial status. 

 

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Air Force protocol.
  • Knowledge of procurement and SPPE ordering processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with corporate service organizations (e.g., Finance, IT, Facilities, Security, and Corporate Communications) and effectively interface with all levels of management and staff.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem solving skills.  
  • Strong knowledge of corporate policies and practices.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTS

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use a computer to complete assignments
  • Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office environment.
