Job Description:

At Regions, the Business Intelligence Developer handles the development, maintenance, integration, data governance, and data reporting for Business Intelligence solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Communicates with the team to identify needs and evaluates alternative business solutions
  • Designs, creates, and implements moderately complex analysis solutions to support the Business Intelligence (BI) environment
  • Identifies new data sources and integration into the existing warehouse
  • Codes, tests, debugs, implements moderate complex BI reporting solutions
  • Automates activities wherever possible to minimize resources needs
  • Acts as a subject matter expert
  • Troubleshoots and tunes in order to isolate and identify problems to optimize systems and reporting performance
  • May act as a resource to associates with less experience

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Five (5) years of experience

  • Strong theoretical knowledge of relational database techniques

  • Ability to work independently within a team environment

Additional Preferences:

  • Experience working in a SQL development environment, preferably Transact-SQL. Experience developing and supporting applications using Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (e. g., Analysis Services (SSAS), Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS))
  • Experience with advanced Microsoft SQL Server relational database programming including stored procedures, views, functions, Multidimensional Expressions queries (MDX), and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX)

  • Experience developing OLAP Cubes (Multidimensional and/or Tabular)

  • Experience with Oracle, Statistical Analysis System (SAS), Sharepoint and TFS

  • Proficient in visualization tools such as Power Business Intelligencer (BI), Qlikview, Microsoft Reporting Services or Tableau

  • This position is included in an on call rotation
