Reports to the Clinical Analytics Systems Architect and is responsible for developing, planning, testing, and implementing systems to abstract clinical data and perform analysis in order to provide meaningful information to detect, quantify and prevent healthcare-acquired infections and track antimicrobial use and antimicrobial resistance in The Johns Hopkins Hospital. The Business Intelligence Developer and Data Analyst is able to recommend and implement information systems to collect data that will be used for the different reporting needs of the organization. . This position is responsible for building complex data sets and using sophisticated data analysis methods to create reports to inform clinical and operational decision making
The Business Intelligence Developer and Data Analyst defines and directs the data management workflow for assigned projects, ensuring all necessary data quality control measures are in place and serves as the data management expert providing specific expertise on timeline development and identification of data management and reporting deliverables. He/she assists in research efforts by providing statistical support, directs the creation and management of new database systems and implements reporting and quality assurance activities.
This position will assist the infection control department in managing the data requests, building the required reports, design and development of reliable applications that could help department and will coordinate the team work plan to achieve deliverables within agreed timeframes.

Pay Grade: IW
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, data management or a related field. A Master's degree in Health Administration is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in database system design, development, implementation and management. Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in data collection, validation, modeling and analysis, statistical programming and designing and implementing clinical data analysis plans.
