Position Overview:
The Business Intelligence Analyst analyzes data sources, verifies accuracy and integrity of data and completes requests for information. Utilizing tools such as Clarity, Epic Report Workbench, Crystal, DIDiver, SQL and others, the Analyst is responsible for validating data models and identifying advanced reporting needs with customers. The BI Analyst meets with Epic application teams and customers to understand reporting needs. The Business Intelligence Analyst creates design specifications for new information requests; identifies and validates the appropriate technological solutions for various data needs. The BI Analyst creates new reports, using a third?party report?writing tool, to display Clarity data. The BI Analyst will have an ongoing responsibility of modifying existing reports, as necessary. The Business Intelligence Analyst must be knowledgeable of relational database concepts and proficient with report writing tools. Familiarity with Epic applications and database structure is preferred, but not required. He/She must have the ability to gain an in?depth understanding of the Epic data model and determine data structures that benefit the entire information sharing environment. The position requires strong communication skills, critical thinking and an analytical mind. The BI Analyst must have the ability to work in a time critical environment, be flexible, and quickly adapt to changing business needs and processes. He/She must be able to work independently as well as collaborative in the team environment. The BI Analyst must be able to work with little supervision and have strong prioritization abilities.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; master’s degreepreferred.

License:
Not applicable.

Certification:
Standard IT industry certifications preferred, such as: Microsoft, Business Objects and/or other relevant industry recognized certifications. Must obtain Epic certification within 90 days of job start. Must maintain Epic certification including the completion of required training to maintain certification. Must obtain industry certification(s) as required.

Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years data management and analysis experiencerequired with three (3) years healthcare experiencepreferred. Business Objects/ Crystal experiencepreferred. Experience with data warehouse or similar environment required.
