The Business Intelligence Center (BIC) uses data analysis to uncover strategic and actionable information to help our clients solve real world business problems. The Business Intelligence Center’s highly-skilledassociates apply advanced data mining tools and techniques on Ingram Micro’s ‘big data’ assets and to generate action-oriented powerful insights and build business intelligence applications and predictive analytical solutions that help our clients find ideal targets for sales and marketingcampaigns, create optimal pricing and promotion offers, find upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and to see how to prosper in current and anticipated markets. The BIC supportsinternal Ingram Micro teams as well as vendors and our solution provider partners. From manufacturer to solution provider to end user, our complete mix of analytics and insights provides you with the insights you need to succeed.
Candidate must be able to pull data from multiple sources and have familiarity with relational databases. Must understand client’s objectives and translate business needs into the appropriate technical data models. Responsible for ad-hoc analysis and reporting, including presenting findings to internal clients. Analysis includes trend identification, opportunity assessment and forecasting. Must be able to apply results of data models to business demands.
Effectively listen, communicate, recommend, and present data analytic solutions to internal and external clients. Must have ability to communicate analytic concepts to a non-technical audience. This includes over the phone and in person presentations with PowerPoint and other media sources.
Education: Master’s degree in quantitative discipline (Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or Econometrics) and 2 years of experience OR Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field with 5-10 years relevant experience
- Experience in analysis of large data sets, identifying trends and patterns, and effectively communicating both internally and externally.
- Modeling Techniques (linear regression, logistic regression, decision tree)
- Query Languages (SQL, Python)
- Automation (SQL Stored Procedures, SSIS, APIs)
- Reporting (Excel, .Net, Microstrategy)
- Must have managed at least one project in which a relational database was built and utilized for analysis.
