About the World Economic Forum Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution: The Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution brings together policy leaders and strategists of international, national and sub-national bodies with technology pioneers, business leaders, academic experts from leading universities, and civil society representatives to study emerging technologies, address the resulting transformations and test protocols and policies that could harness and accelerate the benefits of these technologies whilst minimizing their potential disruptive impacts. This multi-stakeholder hub provides policy leaders with the unique opportunity to anticipate and shape the trajectory of emerging technologies.   The World Economic Forum Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (the “Center”) in San Francisco is looking for a Business Engagement Lead. Reporting to the Head of Business Engagement North America, the Business Engagement Lead will actively engage with startups in Silicon Valley and elsewhere to engage them as Center members, and with larger companies to engage them as Center partners.   About the Opportunity:   Responsibilities

  • Develop the Center’s membership community by identifying key potential companies, understanding their strategic interests and priorities, and shaping compelling value propositions
  • Actively reach out to develop long-term, trusted partnerships with select highly dynamic, emerging multinationals
  • Identify, monitor and evaluate key 4th Industrial Revolution technologies and industry developments, in order to help identify leading-edge small and mid-size companies that can contribute to and engage in the mission of the Forum
  • Mobilize Forum expertise and collaborate with relevant teams to craft customized value propositions, identifying and including appropriate Forum senior management as part of the acquisition process
  • Act as a trusted adviser for Member companies, guiding them on the Forum’s platform and ensuring that they derive the highest value from their engagement
  • Actively contribute to creating new best practice tools and insights to be leveraged across all Forum partner development activities
  • Ensure development pipeline is tracked in Forum’s Customer Relationship Management software

  Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in business or economics
  • Minimum seven years’ work experience, including three years of management experience, with significant exposure to Digital and Technology companies
  • Client-facing function with proven track record in business development; solid commercial acumen Ability to build long-term, trust-based relationships with C-suite executive 
  • Ideally the candidate has an established network of senior contacts in the USA, especially in Silicon Valley or other innovation hubs
