The SMB Partner Ecosystem team enables SAP to achieve breakthrough success with its SMB ERP customers by building a best-in-class ecosystem that is motivated, satisfied and performing with and for SAP. 


The Business Development Specialist for SMB Partner Readiness will:


  • Be a thought-leader and innovator of pre-sales and sales readiness assets.
  • Be a knowledge owner of the competitive landscape.
  • Manage a detailed project plan to ensure a comprehensive set of assets are industry-leading and aligned with current versions of each solution.
  • Align the work and priorities with regional stakeholders and other cross-functional teams required to deliver the assets.
  • Ensure a solid value proposition and ROI for partners for the investments required to maintain a successful SAP practice.
  • Make necessary decisions at the program level to keep work streams on track.
  • Provide clear, concise oral and written communication to all levels of the SMB and SAP organizations.
  • 5-8 years of professional experience in the IT industry, ideally in enterprise software, coupled with steep knowledge in partner ecosystem business acumen.  
  • Experience in training development, program planning and / or evaluating new business development opportunities in new or emerging markets.  
  • Experience in Cloud in the B2B environment. 
  • Excellent communication and proficient negotiation skills. 
  • Demonstrated success in working in a matrix environment.     
  • Strategy Development:   Business plan to outline goals, objectives, audiences, solutions, assets and timeline.
  • Robust Project Plan: Outlines all deliverables, establish operations and governance, and execution dependencies
  • Able to deliver clear, convincing and well-organized presentations. Project credibility even in highly visible and/or adversarial situations.
  • Knows how businesses work; knowledgeable about current and possible future policies, practices, trends and information affecting the business; knows the competition; is aware of how strategic and tactics work in the marketplace.
  • Able to plan, organize and manage resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Engineering or Computer Science required from an accredited university. (MBA or advanced degree in related discipline preferred)
  • Excellent communication and proficient negotiation skills.
  • Conversational fluency in English, any other language an asset.
  • Awareness of cloud, Hosted Services, and SaaS/ PaaS models, cloud -based commerce/ business networks.
