Brief Description

The Business Development Manager manages research, analysis and development of new business opportunities.  The chosen candidate may develop licensing objectives, policies and programs, or initiate proposals, negotiations and presentations for the acquisition of licensing opportunities and technologies.
Detailed Description

  • ·   Develop strategic and operational plans to achieve results and ensure alignment with company goals and objectives
  • ·   Set goals for the work group, manage execution and measure results
  • ·   Select, manage, evaluate and develop staff
  • ·   Identify, evaluate and develop new business opportunities in order to expand the business and increase profitability
  • ·   Retain and expand existing company relationships, product lines or market segments; solicit new business from prospective customers and/or suppliers
  • ·   Oversee development and research activities to build on company strengths; identify potential new markets and business opportunities, increase market share, and strengthen the company’s competitive position within the industry
  • ·   Establish relationships with potential customers and suppliers; discuss unmet needs, problems, or complaints and arrange for meetings with appropriate WESCO representatives
  • ·   Call on existing or prospective customers within the framework of a business development call program
  • ·   Represent the company in identifying, evaluating and negotiating acquisitions, partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, and start-ups in current and new business
  • ·   Develop plans to achieve growth and financial profitability via acquisitions, mergers and/or divestitures
  • ·   Compile and analyze statistics pertinent to the company's business development program, report results to senior management, and adjust programs as appropriate
  • ·  Represent the company in various civic and community functions to further enhance its image and develop additional business
  • ·  Perform other duties as required
