Our manufacturing client in Fredericksburg, Iowa is looking to hire a Business Development Manager. This Manager is a key member of the company team supporting a broad range of sales initiatives to develop and expand new opportunities in processing. Daily activities involve direct contact with existing and potential customers to provide solutions, secure business, negotiate pricing, and manage projects. Requires the ability to learn highly technical and often complex processes to assess new opportunities for technical and strategic fit. Manage accounts with highly technical knowledge and understanding of company processes. Requires a very strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities:

• Seek new customers, evaluate and respond to incoming leads.
• Master and present the critical elements of the company’s technology processing platforms to secure new opportunities that fit capabilities and infrastructure.
• Effectively manage customer relationships by working with cross functional teams to gather necessary information to exceed the needs of the customer.
• Prepare detailed proposals and customer presentations.
• Lead negotiation and execution of contracts and pricing with current and potential clients.
• Plan, schedule, and manage resources to maintain ongoing projects.
• Liaison between production, quality, business development and customers.
• Track and prioritize opportunities for resource allocation.
• Facilitate execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements, Intellectual Property Agreements and Joint Development Agreements.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to customer’s specifications.
• Keep customers informed of all pertinent information from start to finish.

Required Skills:

• Minimum Bachelors degree, preferably in a technical field.
• 5+ years experience in business development, project management, engineering or science. WILL consider equivalent education and experience.
• Experience handling large projects from start to finish within a technical and/or manufacturing environment.
• Background in manufacturing technology, chemistry, food science and/or mechanical/chemical engineering.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work well in teams and communicate across multiple functions.
• Ability to manage large technical projects from start to finish.
• Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Scientific knowledge of particle processing, chemistry and manufacturing technology.

Locations: Fredericksburg, IA

Base Compensation: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 – (DOE)

Travel: 30%
