Description:

Tektronix Component Solutions Organization is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) who can help grow our market share. This individual will bring their knowledge and experience in the MIL/GOV industry to identify new customers and programs. The ideal candidate will have existing relationships with key government contractors or second/third tier vendors who utilize microelectronics services. They will be able to step in and successfully position Tektronix's Component Solutions services into that market. They will be able to work with any customer in this market and have the ability to help customers deliver next generation technology.

The BDM will report directly to the Director of Business Strategy & Development and will help develop the roadmap for Tektronix Component Solutions Organization. There will be a lot of autonomy in this role and their expertise will be critical in the success and profitability of our MIL/GOV related solutions. They will be responsible for the US territory and have the flexibility of working with any US based customer. The BDM willcontinuously search for new opportunities within the market segment and will work closely with Tektronix's business team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for growing Tektronix Component Solutions' business in the MIL/GOV market segment.
  • Responsible for developing capture strategies, and leading pursuit plans and activities. Principal interface with the customers for all business matters.
  • Develop strong decision-maker relationships and trusted coaches inside customer organizations to help ensure Tektronix maintains a fair competitive position.
  • Lead internal team in evaluation of opportunities through rigorous process.
  • Provide strategic pricing guidance to contracts/programs teams as needed.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and design growth strategies.
  • Generates new ideas and solutions by making connections between diverse types of customers, markets and processes.
  • Actively participates in cross-functional brainstorming sessions.
  • Build pipelines and achieve growth quota for future business.
  • Influence and position new ideas, initiatives and innovations to customers and coworkers.
  • Resolve issues and achieve goals by working closely with related team members as well as all internaldepartments.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

  • BS degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or related field is required. An MBA or Engineering degreeis a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of sales or business development experience in the electronics industry witha focus on MIL/GOV related products.
  • Must be able to demonstrate significant relationships and in-depth knowledge of the MIL/GOV market segment.
  • Extensive knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, funding sources and strategy.
  • Strong hands-on engineering background is also required.
  • Strong ability to understand the real customer pain points and articulate clear solutions for these customers.
  • Ability to identify and articulate critical gaps in Microelectronic packaging capabilities and technology.
  • Must have an internal drive to exceed sales goals, influence customer behaviors, invent new sales strategies, and share best practices and ideas with coworkers.
  • Motivated by the challenge of aggressive goals; comfortable with ambiguity; demonstrates personal integrity.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel 50%+ as needed.
