Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager is responsible for supporting the In-Home Services field teams to drive aggressive revenue growth through Smart Home Services..

This role will drive new business through a solid understanding of our core operations, tenacious communication skills, and a deep passion for the value we can provide. This is a tremendous opportunity to help build an exciting and relevant aspect of our business!

Other duties include:

  • Identify and analyze business development opportunities
  • Working with business development and legal colleagues, negotiate and close complex commercial agreements
  • Work across multiple internal teams to identify software needs, gather requirements, evaluate external vendors, and execute licensing agreements
  • Manage new and existing relationships with consumer electronics manufacturers, internet service providers, retail and marketing partners, and software companies
  • Gain buy-in from senior executives for strategic initiatives

Skills - Experience and Requirements

Successful Business Development Manager applicants have the following:

  • A relevant degree from a four-year university and a minimum of two years post-undergrad work experience AND/OR combination of relevant experience and education
  • Experience in a variety of areas including financial analysis, contract negotiation, and relationship management
  • Intellectual curiosity with a demonstrated interest in technology and operations
  • Determination to secure the best terms for Smart Home Services in the face of intense internal and external pressure
  • A willingness to do whatever it takes to successfully close deals and manage assign partnerships   
  • Strong interpersonal skills, superior written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to travel up to 50-75% of the time
