Business Development Manager – Western U.S.

As a niche leader in the Cardiovascular, Clinical Research, support services space, my client is seeking a Business Development Manager to cover key HUBs across the Western half (remote based) of the U.S.

Reporting to: Sales and Marketing Director

Responsibilities

The role has the following key responsibilities within the organization;

  • Developing business with new and existing customers in the pharmaceutical clinical trials market including pharmaceutical companies, biotech and CRO’s
  • Identify new business opportunities
  • Develop ongoing relationships with industry influencers and opinion leaders
  • Presenting capabilities to customers and attending bid defence meetings
  • Preparing proposals and responding to RFPs and RFIs
  • Generating tools and templates to facilitate various BD tasks
  • Developing marketing collateral such as brochures, advertising, press releases and mailings
  • Managing attendance at relevant conferences, exhibitions, and trade shows
  • Contribution to expert papers and their presentation at conferences
  • Plan strategically and develop new business ideas, and assisting in development and marketing of new devices
  • Maintain accurate records of all client contact using Customer Relationship Management database
  • Other reasonable tasks as requested by management

Outline of skills required

This individual will need to have recent and strong experienceselling CRO/Clinical Research support services, be able to work autonomously (self-starter, self-sufficient), and would also benefit from some experience/training in the clinical operations arena.

  • 2-4 years’ experience in life sciences sales/business development
  • Bachelor's degree in (ideally in Business, Marketing, or some related science field)
  • Understanding of the entire clinical trials process
  • Business Development and Territory Management skills
  • Detailed knowledge of internal products and systems
  • Ability to use Customer Relationship Management databases and othertrialdatabases
  • Understanding of GCP
  • Understanding of Data Protection
  • Leadership skills
  • Communication and presentation skills
