The Business Development Director is responsible for driving strategic growth, maintaining a personal pipeline of clients, and leading a small team of business developers to overall team success. This organization is a global leader in contract research services and has a US-based Bioanalytical CRO site that this individual is responsible for generating revenue for. Long-term this Business Development Director will be tasked with growing out the team and keeping up with aggressive growth plans this organization is looking to achieve in the US.
Responsibilities for this role include:
-Prospect for new clients from small biotechnology companies to large pharmaceutical companies.
-Create Business Development plans for personal achievement and all direct reports.
-Prepare quotes, requests for proposals, service agreements, terms and conditions, etc.
-Lead negotiations, coordinate decision-making process, and close deals.
-Deliver company presentations to potential and existing clients.
-Maintain relationships with clients to secure future and additional business.
-Serve as a leader for the business development team to accompany more junior members to client meetings as needed, set goals for them, and ensure the team goals are met.
-Promote US site's services including both large and small molecule bioanalysis and biomarker and assay development.
-Having an understanding of GLP requirements
-6+ years' experience selling bioanalytical services in a preclinical or clinical setting
-2+ years of leadership experience
-Must have strong evidence of success selling services to Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology clients
This is a remote position and candidates can be considered throughout the US. Travel will vary but may at times be as much as 80%.
