Our company provides central laboratory services to the biopharmaceutical industry. Through our global network of laboratories we offer our clients a broad spectrum of laboratory and project management services. We are currently seeking a Business Development Director to play a key role in the growth of our rapidly expanding customer base.

This is a work from home opportunity with approximately 30% overnight travel required. Candidates can be based anywhere in the United States, preference will be given to those residing in the Northeast. As a Business Development Director, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business as well as maintaining professional relationships with the existing client base. You will work closely with our Operations team to develop service plans and budgets that separate us from our competition.

We are seeking a professional, highly motivated individual who can present our organization as a leader in our industry. Exceptional communication (both written and verbal) and analytical skills are a must for this position.

Combination of business development experience and laboratory knowledge within the central laboratory or contract research industry

  • Proven track record working with mid and high-level industry contacts within the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with operations, finance, and marketing departments
  • Scientific and/or sales or marketing background with concentration in pharmaceutical/biotech area
  • Firm understanding of Functional Service Provider (FSP)/Functional Outsourcing models
  • Ability to provide follow-up to expand relationships and business opportunities
  • Ability to identify and develop sales leads, professionally present capabilities and manage the sales process through close.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, familiarity with sales automation systems
  • Extensive pre-existing biopharmaceutical industry contacts
  • Ability to travel 30% including some weekends
  • Bachelor's degree (in Science or Business)
  • History of success working from a home-based office environment.
