Senior Capture Manager Key Characteristics and Responsibilities

  • 10+ years as a Capture Manager providing end-to-end capture management functions for Federal business opportunities in the $5 – 200MM range;
  • Professional experience in operational logistics services, base operation services and support, management services, and/or IT systems engineering space;
  • Demonstrated understanding of Shipley or other appropriate business development methodology to drive capture of opportunities;
  • Ability to function and be successful in an entrepreneurial environment;
  • High energy level and excitement about the pursuit and having an impact;
  • Good customer affinity and contacts, or demonstrated ability to find contacts as appropriate;
  • A highly collaborative style of engagement with the ability and demeanor to work closely with other team members;
  • Able to analyze a customer problem, decompose it related to the mission, business and technical drivers, and develop differentiated and innovative solutions;
  • Strong research and analytical skills;
  • Experienced in formulating sound business cases for opportunity selection, pursuit and investment;
  • In-depth knowledge of federal acquisition models, practices and techniques; 
  • Ability to provide thought-leadership and contribute in multi-disciplinary ways across operating units and to other aspects of the overall business direction and infrastructure;
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and shape customer requirements and acquisition plans;
  • Experience in formulating business partnerships and agreements aligned to win strategies;
  • Polished presentation skills and relishes representing the company in customer and business partner meetings;
  • Demonstrated ability to conceive and craft short-list strategies and compelling win themes;
  • Adept at multi-tasking and balancing simultaneous projects;
  • Ability to identify, capture, and close a deal - the full life cycle from BD to capture to proposal to Win!  

This is a hands-on position working collaboratively with a senior management team that is hands-on.
