SCADA software is now often referred to as the digital doorway between the real world and the virtual world.  Come to Siemens and become part our Digital Doorway strategy!!  Siemens is currently looking to increase our SCADA business development team   Responsibilities The SCADA business development team enables the sales of Siemens’ SCADA portfolio in the market by providing specialized technical product knowledge, sales support, and marketing coordination between the business unit and the SII Sales Division. The SCADA Business Developer will be responsible for driving the sales of the SCADA software portfolio (WinCC OA, WinCC, WinCC Pro) by engaging with sales engineers to develop actionable account plans to increase Siemens’ SCADA presence and pulling through additional Factory Automation products while supporting sales cycles. 

  • Some temporary channel development responsibilities will be necessary for this role
  • Responsible for driving solution sales by analyzing the market, identifying account opportunities and most importantly – demand creation
  • Develop excellent working relationships with both sales engineers and other sales specialists in defining, positioning, designing technology solutions for SCADA.
  • Participates in customer-facing meetings to align strategies and determine business and technical requirements that will be used in developing solutions or solution alternatives
  • Work with SCADA engineers to define requirements for customer demonstrations promoting product features and benefits, both introductory and evaluation demos, including development of scripts, working with the technical and sales teams to customize
  • Presents proposed solutions directly to customers and gaining acknowledgement of value and commitment to move forward in the sales cycle
  • Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operational improvements
  • Prepares and delivers technical and commercial portions for sales proposals, analysis, and design architectural overviews for existing and potential customers
  • Helps prepare cost estimates by reviewing RFPs, studying technology platforms, drawings, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, and other professional and technical personnel
  • Work closely with the SCADA engineers and sales teams on RFP responses and proposal preparations
  • Medium travel for sales meetings, conferences, and training.

   Required Knowledge/Skills 

  • Some channel development skills considered a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of SCADA/HMI systems5
  • 5+ years software solution sales experience required
  • Analytical and operations-focused, who can recognize market opportunities
  • Highly ambitious and intuitive self-starter with ability to get things done
  • Detail oriented with strong interpersonal, presentation and sales skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills to quickly establish strong working relationships with customers and across Siemens functional group
  • Product/process knowledge

  • Excellent verbal communication skills  


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical area
  • Direct experience in HMI/SCADA industry is strongly preferred
  • Software sales and/or software marketing experience required
  • 5+ years in Software industry required
