POSITION DECRIPTION: Duck Creek Technologies LLC seeks a Business Architect (Manager Level) in Columbia, SC. This position involves travel up to 50% of the time. Additionally, in the future, the base job location may change based on business needs, but, as noted above, the position is based out of Columbia, SC and telecommuting is not permitted. The Business Architect is responsible for understanding the company’s business strategy, operating vision, business imperatives and capabilities and how they affect technology imperatives. With other architects, s/he works to define opportunities to create business value for the client and defines the specific business solutions and structures needed to realize these opportunities. S/he may be expected to work across multiple complex projects simultaneously. The Business Architect’s essential job responsibilities include: Understand and advance the company’s business strategy, operating vision, business imperatives and capabilities, and how they affect technology imperatives; Understand and advance the key challenges that sponsor and key stakeholders face; With other architects, define opportunities to create business value for the client; Conduct Joint Application Design (JAD) Sessions; Define the specific business solutions & structures needed to realize these opportunities; Work with other architects to explore and define how the proposed solutions will fit into the overall enterprise architecture; Design the Journey Maps and user stories, Prototypes, Conference Room Pilot (CRP); align the solutions and requirements; Help define the performance goals, metrics, key milestones for the proposed solutions; and Review prototypes, enterprise blueprints, and the scope of the initiatives to meet the business imperatives.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The position of Business Architect (Manager Level) requires a bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Applications, or a related technical/analytical field. The position requires 8 years of progressively-responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related business architecting position. Additionally, the applicant must have the following number of years of professional experience with each of the following:
8 years: Implementing P&C insurance software applications; 8 years: .Net Solutions and SQL and relational database design; 6 years: Conducting P&C Systems integration (Policy, Billing, Claims, Reinsurance, third-party systems); 5 years: Conducting requirement gathering and stakeholder agreement meetings; gap analysis; Joint Application Design (JAD) session, creating Proto-types, Conference Room Pilot (CRP); 5 years: Applying business process design concepts/principles within the P&C insurance industry, including Agile software development life cycle for P&C insurance.
