Serve as Business Partner to the National Account Manager in building market share and increasing profitability within current and new product categories at Walmart. Drive service excellence through all levels of the account. Align team and company resources to ensure the account receives optimal programs, assortments, inventory levels, product delivery, promotional activity and advertising so that retail productivity, as well as, customer and MSG profitability increases. Provide the Account Manager and Executives with analysis and recommendations to develop/refine category-based selling strategies and tactics.  Analyze consumer insights, sales trends, POS data and other relevant information and provide guidance that will optimize business performance including categorysales, gross margins and GMROII. Provide leadership and guidance to account team members, as well as, Replenishment and Retail Link Analysts. Serve as point of contact for MSG Information Technology Group.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management Responsibility –

  • Partner with the National Account Manager to achieve account P&L performance, meet internal program deadlines, and SIMPIC account implementation.

  • Build upon and develop productive business relationships with key members of management at Wal-Mart.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Wal-Mart, its management team and provide ongoing guidance and leadership in managing the business relationship.

  • Support the National Account Manager and Account Executives during customer meetings and sales presentations to enhance customer confidence and ensure solution-focused discussions.

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of daily business activity between Wal-Mart and MSG including sales, order placement and planning, troubleshooting shipments, and other related issues.

  • Support Replenishment and Corporate Business Analysts to achieve customer retail performance, inventory, and business analysis goals and incorporate SIMPIC account implementation objectives.

Sales Analysis & Reporting –

  • Assist account managers with program development that supports corporate timelines, optimizing pricing strategies, assortment planning, profitability analysis, replenishment, seasonal sales opportunities and promotional planning.

  • Provide analytical support that maximizes MSG product performance at the retail level through developing and analyzing sales data (POS, inventory, in-stocks) for the Wal-Mart account.

  • Evaluate category/item retail performance and seasonal trends and make recommendations to Account Executives on inventory and POG strategies to support MSG category and vendor initiatives.

  • Create tracking reports for promotional activity targeting new items, programs, features, and advertising.

Budgeting/Forecasting

  • Provide analytical guidance to the Wal-Mart account team and Purchasing to ensure adherence to corporate timelines, salesbudget development processes, pricing strategies, profitability analysis and ILF forecasting.

  • Provide assistance to the National Account Manager in the key business management responsibilities related to the business including sales forecast development and management, P&L management, as well as, salesreporting and summary analysis.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, mathematics or equivalent, five years related account/category management experience, personal interest in one or more outdoor sporting categories

  • Measurable success growing sales, profitability and customer satisfaction with a Wal-Mart national account.

  • Thorough understanding of business, financial, salesforecasting, inventory and project management.

  • Well-versed in program and product development, assortment planning and related merchandising strategies.

  • Demonstrated strengths in POS and financial analysis coupled with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.

  • Proficient in leveraging technology, including Retail Link, to drive the business and in learning new software applications.

  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills coupled with attention
