Job Description:

Business Project & Consulting Services Department at Mackenzie Financial is accepting applications for a 12 month contract Business Analyst position.  Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Business Analyst will focus on services for Client Services Operations and is responsible for:   


Business Analysis

  • Business planning and analysis
  • Analyze the business impact of product, system or regulatory changes, and identify where business processes or policies and procedures will require change
  • Identify requirements and assist in the development and roll out of end-user documentation (internal and external communications, new forms etc) and training
  • Identify and assist in the implementation of the new business process flows
  • Develop business implementation plans with all impacted business units
  • Analyze business processes to identify opportunities for improvement or new products: examples include efficiency and productivity gains, timeliness, and cost avoidance or reduction


Assist with Business Impact Coordination for larger technical projects

  • Work with cross-functional teams, led by IS, on technical projects
  • Assist IS by participating in JAD sessions and business design reviews, or by consolidating a consensus business view
  • Assess current and to-be processes, prepare business impact documentation to identify change management and training requirements
  • Work with business units to identify impacts and implement change


The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • At least 3 years demonstrated working experience in a business analyst role
  • Post-secondary educationrequired
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to develop, maintain and manage relationships at various levels within the Company
  • Proven leadership skills with strong decision making capability and judgment
  • Demonstrated analytical ability with a focus on detail and accuracy
  • Familiarity with back office data processing and client inquiry systems, processes and procedures and working knowledge of MS software - Word, Excel, VISIO
  • Financial industry experience is an asset
  • Completion of CSC and IFIC are desirable
