The Senior Data Modeler (Business Analyst) will be responsible for understanding, developing and maintaining data definitions for tables and views in Erwin for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for understanding, communicating, and promoting to the organization on the semantic views model as well as assist teams and business areas with questions related to the EDW. This position plays an integral role in supporting the company's strategic direction to be a data and analytics driven.

Accountable for complying with all laws and regulations associated with duties and responsibilities.


Position Location:

This position reports to Manager of Enterprise Data Management.


This position has no direct reports.

Necessary Contacts:

To do this job effectively the incumbent has to be in contact with team members, departmental management, and consultants.


Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, and Computer Science, Mathematics or related field is required. Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a degree.

Must have a minimum of five years of professional information technology experience to include a minimum of two years' experience with SQL scripting and database table/view design.

Strong understanding and experience with SQL scripting.

Ability to think conceptually and abstractly.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, time management and organizational skills. Able to multitask and adapt quickly to change and coordinate activities with others.


Understand the database model (both atomic and semantic). Be able to create new subject area models (or modify existing models) that integrate smoothly into the existing model.

Maintain the Erwin model (all tables and views) and model diagrams as well as DDL for tables and views saved in TFS.

Assist teams by verifying deployment scripts and plans.

Be able to assist teams or business areas with questions related to the EDW.

Contributes to model training for business or technical areas on how to use the EDW for their specific use.

Create Solution blueprints for features that require changes or additions to the model.

Collaborate in data model design and solutioning for enterprise reporting dashboards.

Participate in business requirement conversations and translate into a model design that will meet their needs.

Collaborate with Business Data Architect / Product Management / DI Architect in designing tables/views to meet a business need.

Understands Departmental Goals and Objectives and deliver work products to contribute to those goals as well as advancing Analytics and EIM division.

Job duties are performed in a normal and clean office environment with normal noise levels.

Work is predominately done while sitting or standing.

The ability to comprehend, document, calculate, visualize, and analyze are required.

Physical effort is required to lift, hold, and carry objects up to 15 pounds, occasionally.
