Primary Responsibilities

HDR has a new opportunity for a Bridge Section Manager to be a key team member in leading work teams and designing projects that make a difference in our communities. The Bridge Section Manager will be responsible for the management of the well-established and experienced bridge staff, projects and market growth. The Bridge Section Manager is expected to be a project manager and/or technical lead on projects; and assure that all section workload is planned, organized and follows HDR's quality procedures. The Bridge Section Manager will be directly involved with workshare planning with other HDR offices and working with external clients related to project production/execution. Will assure that the bridge group staff has appropriate mentorship, leadership and supervision on technical assignments, and will assist in the production checking or Quality Control reviews of projects. The Bridge Section Manager will also assist in client development, marketing planning, proposals and interviews which will involve working cooperatively with the HDR marketing team to support business development efforts.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Licensed engineer in the state of Idaho or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 10+ years of bridge design engineering experience is preferred, including major bridge experience.
  • Proven track record in marketing and winning of design-bid-build and/or design-build work to drive growth and work-share opportunities.
  • Experience in developing, mentoring, and managing staff to promote career growth and positive morale.
  • Strong presentation skills, self-starter, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to quality.
