Manage professional staff in the investigation of personal and commercial lines automobile claims and coverage problems.


*** Plan, direct and control the activities of direct reports and be accountable for their actions.


*** Update superiors regarding conditions, developments, trends and progress which affect the claims unit.


*** Hire, train and supervise members of the claims units.


*** Review claims reserve, coverage investigations and settlement practices.


*** Ensure prompt and fair service in compliance with claims policies and procedures.


*** Settle claims in excess of staff authority level.


*** Take appropriate action to improve performance, productivity and cost effectiveness.


*** Develop departmental goals and objectives.
