Provides for proper orientation, training and in-service education of subordinate staff; assigns subordinates work based on their individual qualifications and provides for cross training as appropriate; monitors and supervises work to ensure compliance with established procedures, policies and standards; monitors quality and quantity of work performed in the laboratories, authorizes and processes status changes, leaves of absence, paid time off in the form of Earned Time; evaluates overall employee performance; performs all other functions constituting proper management of subordinate personnel in accordance with established hospital and departmental policy and procedures.
