Job Summary

Apple's Environmental Technologies group is seeking a candidate to manage program deliverables for materials used in Apple products. The candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive the execution of compliance and key environmental initiatives on biocompatibility and eco-design.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience managing, organizing and maintaining aspects of large projects
  • 5+ years of project management experience in a corporate setting preferred Familiarity with biocompatibility standards and basic aspects of toxicology
  • Familiarity of international environmental or safety regulations on restricted chemicals in the electronics, wearable, or other related industries
  • Experience executing biocompatibility test plans
  • Experience with supplier interactions facilitating receipt of required material
  • documentation and sample requests
  • Experience with analytical testing for restricted substances is preferred
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and highly organized
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment


This position is offered in Apple's Environmental Technologies group within Apple's Hardware Engineering division. Our mission is to deliver leading programs on biocompatibility, the elimination of hazardous substances, improved material and energy efficiency as well as eco- design. Apple believes that major improvements in environmental performance will be delivered through product design and innovation. The candidate will be responsible for broad program management for environmental initiatives relating to material qualification for Apple products from concept through shipment. The candidate will drive coordination, execution, and internal tracking of biocompatibility assessments and material qualifications, toxicology reviews, analytical testing, restricted substances compliance, and guiding product design teams on eco-design. The candidate will also create process documentation and SOPs, drive team meetings, create and develop excellent cross functional partnerships, is a fearless organizer who can prioritize issues and track details of complex deliverables in a fast paced environment.


BS, MS or PhD in Materials Science, Biomedical Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
