Pure is currently seeking an experienced Technical Writer to produce superior documentation that will contribute to the overall success of our products. The overarching responsibility of this role will be to respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs). The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational and time management skills in order to meet deadlines—as well as be comfortable operating within a collaborative model where multiple departments have input for projects. A strong affinity for editing, retaining industry terminology, problem-solving and attention to detail are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Using advanced writing and editing skills in the production of highly technical documents. Main responsibility will be in bid proposal writing such as responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs)
  •  Skilled in compliance and quality control with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to balance the requirements for both compliant proposals and compelling solutions in all written products
  • Timely release of documentation for internal reviews, client reviews, and proposals
  • Coordinating and participation in project review meetings with technical specialists, project management and business development to determine proposed approach and distribute roles and responsibilities
  • Follow up technical specialists, project management and business development to acquire their contributions to proposal. Review their submissions against requirements to ensure all requirements are met. Revise submissions to meet technical writing standards
  • Demonstrated ability to organize material, rapidly assimilate information, and collaborate with various resources throughout the proposal process
  • Coordinate completion of forms including acquiring appropriate signatures
  • Review technical and marketing materials for comprehensive, style and consistency
  • Liaise with technical specialists to confirm content is current
  • Prepares hard copy deliverable packages for issuance to clients
  • Logical thinker with proven understanding and ability to plan ahead through the operations and logistics of complex proposals
  • Maintain file organization and archive documents
  • Create and maintain system for annual resume updates of key staff

Required Skills

  • Must have experience writing responses to Request for Proposals
  • Minimum 10 years of experience, to include 3 years in proposal management and technical writing for customers, such as grant writing, proposal writing, legal briefs, or similar requirements-centric, persuasion-based writing
  • Ability to modify style, tone and complexity of the writing to suit various audiences
  • Ability to contribute ideas to improve technical documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Ability to quickly absorb, understand, and use terminology unique to the pipeline condition assessment industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail in completion of tasks and coordination with team leads, leadership members and engineers
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to determine the needs of end users of technical documentation
  • Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation and charts that increase users’ understanding
  • Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment with others or independently
  • Strong ability to plan and manage workload and to manage expectations of team members
  • A writing sample should be submitted with resume. Selected respondents may be subject to a short-written test during the interview process

 

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, English, General Business, or a related field
  • Minimum of ten years’ technical writing experience in a similar role.
