Overview

Currently seeking a Director for an opening with a Bids and Proposals team in Gaithersburg, MD. The ideal candidate will be APMP? certified and possess a Bachelor?s degree with at least 7years of experience successfully managing the development of compliant, competitive, cogent, and compelling proposals pursuing professional services of a similar nature.

 

Responsibilities of the Bid Proposal Director

 

  • Applyexperience and best practices in proposal team management to ensure the timely delivery of proposal submissions that are fully compliant with solicitation instructions.
  • Manage the internal systems and ensure consistent processes and reliable tools for the department.
  • Manage staff and be ultimately accountable for the successful development of compliant, competitive, cogent, and compelling proposals through effective collaboration across teams that include internal staff, corporate partners, consultants, and supporting vendors.
  • Support capture and business development initiatives.
  • Ensure that bid preparations are proactively in place when capture activities are in process.
  • Oversee all proposal development and management activities, including but not limited to:
  • Oversee the development of proposal schedules, outlines, compliance matrices, and Proposal Development Plans.
  • Oversee and participate in the proposal review process to ensure quality control of all proposals.

 

Requirements of the Bid Proposal Director

 

  • Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field
  • Minimum 7years of experience successfully managing the development of compliant, competitive, cogent, and compelling proposals pursuing professional services of a similar nature (IT, Software Development and Business Consulting) for contracts to the Federal Government
  • Master?s degree in related field preferred
  • APMP? certification and current APMP? membership and active participation in the local chapter desired
  • Professional Training Certificates in Shipley (or other industry recognized proposal development methods) preferred
  • Must demonstrate a record of accomplishment of proposal management success pursuing professional services of a similar nature (IT, Software Development and Business Consulting) for contracts to the Federal Government
  • Expert knowledge of U.S. federal Government services/solutions contracting/buying practices, contract project management and capture and proposal management
  • Must be able to demonstrate experience and understanding of the complete Business Development lifecycle, from capture to bid submission until contract award
