General Summary:

The BI Solutions analyst is responsible for collaborating with clients/stakeholders across our multi-state hospital system and within the corporate arena to define requirements specific to Healthcare Business questions for the purpose of developing robust business intelligence reporting solutions. Under the direct supervision of the Business Analytics Manager will perform data extraction/acquisition using multiple databases and querying languages for the purpose of dynamically reporting results to the end user. Consult and advise with the Corporate Analytics Data Warehouse team and other stakeholders concerning the accuracy of data and efficiency of the data acquisition process by having a sound knowledge of all data sources. Create ad-hoc executive reports and scorecards using Business Intelligence tools (QlikView, Alteryx, Business Objects, R, etc.) and data extrapolated from multiple source systems based on current corporate operational needs.

What you will be responsible for:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborating with clients/stakeholders across the AHS multi-state hospital system and within various corporate departments to define requirements specific to Healthcare Business questions for the purpose of developing robust business intelligence reporting solutions. Perform data extraction/acquisition using multiple databases and querying languages for the purpose of dynamically reporting results to the end user Consult and advise with the Corporate Analytics Data Warehouse team and other stakeholders concerning the accuracy of data and efficiency of the data acquisition process by having a sound knowledge of all data sources. Interpret findings of solutions/reports using descriptive statistical analysis and reporting tools such as QlikView, Excel, PowerPoint. Create ad-hoc executive reports and scorecards using Business Intelligence tools (QlikView, Alteryx, and Business Objects) and data extrapolated from multiple source systems based on current corporate operational needs. Develop and/or maintain expert knowledge of the rapidly changing Healthcare industry and be able to identify sources for information based on current Healthcare initiatives.

What you will need:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Relational database knowledge (relational model(s), star schema, keys, common terminology)

• Intermediate-level skills with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup, visual basic commands)

• Knowledge of reporting and query tools (Oracle SQL developer, Business Objects, MS SQL)

• Knowledge of SQL querying language

• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute specific tasks associated to data acquisition/profiling

• Ability to construct process flow charts and diagrams relating to data ETL processes and project life cycles

• Working knowledge of self-service analytic/ETL tools and data visualization tools, specifically Alteryx Designer and QlikView

• Ability to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in in data by incorporating thorough documentation processes

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED: Cerner or Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications knowledge (implementation, design, support, reporting)
