Are you a Splunk expert looking to share your knowledge with the world? The Splunk Blueprints Team partners with customers, engineering, product management, and field technical services to develop and evangelize technical best practices. As a Best Practices Engineer, you’ll be responsible for aggregating and validating guidance on using, deploying, and scaling Splunk deployments.

 The ultimate goal of this role is to increase customer success and adoption. If you enjoy working cross-functionally and building high scale content and programs, this is the job for you.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts and customers to collect and refine Best Practices
  • Create blog posts, videos, and app solutions to evangelize Best Practices
  • Present Best Practices to customers and at industry conferences
  • Collaborate with market groups to develop use case specific Splunk whitepapers and cookbooks
  • Engage with customers to coach and gather feedback on Best Practices
  • Collaborate with product development to drive feedback to improve the product
  • Domains include but are not limited to:
    • Data Onboarding
    • Architecting & Sizing
    • Reporting & Visualizations
    • SPL & Search Performance
    • User Onboarding & Management
    • App Management
    • Security & Compliance
    • Integrating with Open Source
  • Up to 25% domestic travel

Background

  • 7+ years in the Information Technology or Security industry
  • Splunk Certified Architect
  • 2+ years Splunk Administrator, Sales Engineer, Services Engineer, or Support
  • Proficiency with administration and usage of Splunk
  • Passion for evangelism and customer interaction
  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral
  • Experience and familiarity with IT management products and services
  • Experience with networking, server, application, big data, and web technologies
  • Ability to lead cross-functionally

Education 

  • BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or related engineering discipline.
