Job Summary and Responsibilities:

The Senior Benefits Analyst position is responsible for researching, analyzing, evaluating, and administering corporate benefit plans and programs. Working collaboratively with HRIS, Payroll and IT teams to manage the needs assessment process, data management, systems implementations and reporting. Responsible for developing and maintaining project plans for benefits initiatives.

1. Manage the day-to-day coordination of all projects and programs.

2. Work with project and functional leads to ensure that each project is on track and assist where needed in keeping projects moving forward.

3. Develop communications and timelines for projects, manage multiple projects simultaneously and track metrics.

4. Work collaboratively with HRIS and IT teams to ensure HRIS system meets benefits needs and is updated to reflect changes to rates, plans and life events.

5. Ensure benefit plans are set up correctly in HRIS system according to plan provisions and regulatory guidelines.

6. Oversee benefits enrollment and file interfacing between vendors.

7. Educate team members on benefits programs, policies and procedures within the HRIS system.

8. Manage the implementation of new systems/vendors.

9. Work with HRIS, IT and Payroll to ensure timely/accurate Absence Management tracking.

10. Routinely audit benefit databases and processes for compliance.

11. Evaluate plan documents and forms for compliance issues, internal recordkeeping problems or concerns.

12. Work with Communication Manager on the development of employee communication materials regarding benefits programs, procedures, changes, and government-mandated disclosures.

13. Assist with federal filings and reporting.

14. Consistently document all procedures and processes.

15. Stay abreast of and understand new and proposed legislation and guide the team in determining the impacts to benefit plans and internal procedures.

16. Coordinate the planning, promotion, and support of the health and wellness programs.

17. Communicate with team members and outside organizations for the purpose of enhancing program awareness and assisting with program implementation.

18. Serve as reference for team member questions and concerns.

19. Respond to timely to inquiries from Team Member Support Services.

20. Assist with development and maintenance of the budget and business plan for the benefits team.

21. Assist and support other benefit-related activities as they arise.

22. Adheres to the Medical Center¿s Organizational Competencies and standards of behavior. Working Conditions: Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 5 lbs. and stands a minimum of 1 hour a day.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


1. Bachelor¿s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance or HR is required.

2. Minimum of 5 years of applicable overall health and welfare and retirement experience.

3. Minimum of 3 years of experience with PeopleSoft Benefits Administration and eBenefits.

4. Strong analytical and math skills required.

5. Strong client service skills.

1. Project management skills preferred.

1. Certified Employee Benefits Specialist or Professional in Human Resources Certification or Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification.
