This position will report to the Director of U.S. Plan Compliance and Leave Administration and will support the day-to-day compliance of the company's health and welfare benefit plans, 401(k) plans, and leave administration program. They will help ensure the company's benefit administration practices comply with IRS and ERISA requirements, as well as internal HR policies and programs.
Based in our Irving Headquarters on a hybrid remote schedule, the individual will:
• Ensure the regulatory compliance of company-provided benefit plans in the U.S., including health and welfare and 401(k) plans
• Provide technical expertise of the company's employee benefit and leave programs
• Review plans and policies related to employee benefits in conjunction with preparing their amendment and restatement
• Draft summary plan descriptions, benefits-related HR polices, and employee communications
• Respond to various benefit plan inquiries
• Work with outside consultants and internal stakeholders on ERISA plan audits, Forms 5500, ACA reporting, and annual discrimination testing
• Research employee benefit plan and leave related issues
• Maintain strong knowledge of employee benefit plan laws, including HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, and ACA
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and seven (7) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to eleven (11) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Must be able to read and interpret benefit plans
• Thorough knowledge of ERISA and all regulations governing U.S. Health and Welfare and Retirement plans
• Other job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete assigned work
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong research and critical thinking skills
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working as an ERISA Paralegal or working under the supervision of ERISA attorneys strongly preferred
• Experience understanding large controlled group structures
• Proficiency or mastery in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
