Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain databases related to cost and utilization of benefit programs
  • Evaluate benefit program cost and utilization, recommend benefit plan revisions and administrative policy changes, and assist in the implementation of new benefit programs as required
  • Develop procedures to improve the accuracy and efficiency of benefit plan cost and utilization analysis using the in-house administration system
  • Provide training and support for employees on benefit programs
  • Arrange and conduct employee information presentations, enrollments, and new hire benefits delivery
  • Establish key vendor relationships, develop an in-depth understanding of benefit operations, and initiate process improvements
  • Act as liaison with internal partners, vendors and consultants on various matters such as plan design, contracts, and audits
  • Create and review employee benefit communication materials
  • Use data to monitor participation, utilization rates and trends on a regular basis
  • Identify problem areas in service delivery processes, troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions
  • Additional duties as assigned

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Business, Human Resources or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
  • 5+ years progressive Human Resources or Benefit experience preferred
  • High degree of proficiency in Excel, as well as the MS Office Suite & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
