The Pharmacy postgraduate year one (PGY1) program is a 12 month educational program to gain experience and exposure across multiple practice settings with an overarching goal of receiving further pharmacy training in roles in public health, academia and clinical pharmacy in an outpatient setting. The resident will also receive exposure to managed care and governmental pharmacist roles - including formulary management, prior authorization and review, and pharmacy and therapeutics committees on county and state levels.
The Behavioral Health Pharmacy PGY1 Resident, following the completion of the PGY1 pharmacy residency program, will be competent in several practice areas within pharmacy such as the development and management of drug utilization review programs, development and evaluation of clinical/public health programs in community settings, and the development and presentation of professional continuing education credits.
