Position Responsibilities/Requirements

Candidates will possess strategic thinking capabilities, understanding of the applicable markets and ability to create content for our marketing. Manages the strategic product planning function responsible for developing long-term strategic objectives for FIS Banking Products. Tracks the competition, and identifies threats or opportunities. Analyzes issues that affect profitability and growth. Identifies, researches and evaluates new product opportunities and market initiatives. Develops and communicates strategic product plans. Must have experience with developing long term Retail Banking strategies that align with market drivers and industry trends.


GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop long term product strategies that align with market drivers and industry trends.

  • Evaluate market trends and competitive positioning.

  • Identify, research, and evaluate new product opportunities by analyzing complex market problems and issues using data from internal and external sources.

  • Bring expertise or engage subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to produce 18 month to 3 year product strategies.

  • Collaborate with business line General Managers, Product Development, Enterprise and International teams to ensure cohesive product strategies.

  • Advise senior management by providing data-based strategic direction to identify and address product issues and opportunities.

  • Ensure product strategies align with corporate vision.

  • Oversee the investment prioritization process, documents and presentations.

  • Set product message in collaboration with Market Integration team and evangelize internally and externally.

  • Deliver product messaging and demonstrate thought leadership (speaking, shows, client visits, etc.)

  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing, finance or other related discipline.


GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Thorough knowledge of products and services in assigned business line(s)
    In-depth financial services/payments industry knowledge

  • Knowledge of banking practices, regulations and operations within assigned business line(s)

  • Knowledge of standards relevant to the software industry (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma, CMM)

  • Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (e.g., agile, iterative, waterfall)

  • General business skills, financial management and planning skills, long-term vision, and executive presence

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors)

  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills

  • Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take

  • Ability to understand and focus on clients’ needs, establish credibility and build positive, professional relationships with clients

  • Project management skills; ability to prioritize and complete tasks

  • Requires leadership and negotiation skills

Manages work focused on strategy development for one or more lines of business. Broad knowledge of the field with proven leadership skills. Typically requires ten (10) or more years or related experience with a minimum of one (3) years of leadership responsibility. JR48599
