Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establishes vision, strategies, and goals for area of responsibility in alignment with enterprise and department objectives
  • Provides leadership, planning, and direction regarding work and resources to meet established goals

Bank Risk Management Director

 

This role will report to the Bank Risk Officer and have oversight for the Bank’s Risk Management function, which includes Enterprise Risk Management, Capital Markets Risk, Loan Review, and Model Risk.

 

Competitive candidates will have:

  • MBA preferred; BA in related business majors
  • At least 5 years of enterprise risk and compliance experience
  • At least 10 years of banking or financial institution experience 
  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations and risk management frameworks
  • Proven track record working across functional lines and creating win-win solutions
  • Understands the “three lines of defense” model and its application in a regulated institution

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting leadership with the proactive identification, assessment, and reporting of risk results and trends
  • Collaborating with business partners to develop balanced risk/reward solutions
  • Managing resources, both human and financial, in accordance with the budget, business plan, and existing and anticipated business environment
  • Providing effective written and oral communications to senior management, the Board of Directors, and other stakeholders
  • Ensuring the risk management program aligns with industry best practices and regulatory and enterprise expectations
