Backend / API Engineer, Payment Flows at Stripe in Seattle, WA

The Payment Flows team makes it simple for developers to accept money from any customer in the world using our payments APIs. Our APIs enable developers to accept their first payment in a few hours. As their business grows, we augment every step of their checkout flow with powerful features, such as localization with payment methods and fraud detection. At the same time, we work to keep our payments APIs fast and reliable.You’ll play a critical role in expanding our API capabilities and building highly performant and reliable systems. We’re looking for people with a strong background or interest in building successful products; you’re comfortable in dealing with lots of moving pieces; you have exquisite attention to detail; and you are motivated by the user impact of your work.

You will:

• Design, build, and maintain APIs and systems that power the payments APIs
• 
  
• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
• 
  
• Work with engineers across the company to launch new features at scale
• 
  
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

You may be fit for this role if you:

• Have ideally 7+ years of experience shipping high-quality products
