- Bachelor of Arts or Science preferably in Business Management, Marketing, or Communications
Professional License/Certification Required:
- 7-10 years of experience in fundraising development with expertise and demonstrated ability in closing gifts and track record of coaching and supervising fundraising staff
- Strong interpersonal skills to navigate effective communication between staff at director, manager and specialist levels as well as MGOs, Presidents, Executive Directors and leadership volunteers
- Solid knowledge of annual giving, donor prospecting, cultivation and planned giving. Able to articulate and help others craft a solid case for giving and engagement.
- High degree of organization, attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to anticipate changing market needs and initiate long-range planning.
- Able to assess staff talent, mentor and train others toward a shared vision.
- A professional and resourceful style; the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative, and to manage multiple tasks and projects at a time.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate effectively and professionally with executive staff and board members

- Experience with Salesforce and/or a CRM is preferred.
- Solid understanding of the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship cycle of major and planned gift prospects and donors.
- Experience with prescribed donor database management practices, and in generating queries and reports to guide staff performance is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical skills, ability to mediate, negotiate and resolve conflicts independently, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and understanding of budgets and finance.
- Ability to build relationships with senior staff, national board members, and external organizations and work with people from a variety of personalities, cultures and settings.

The national Associate Vice President, Individual Giving is responsible for the operational plan and budget development and execution for the Society's mid-level giving program representing $12+ million in revenue annually. The AVP ensures the Society maximizes best practices, consistent excellent execution, understands and incorporates emerging trends and innovations and implements in markets.
This role leads a distributed team of 20 individual giving fundraisers to meet established mid-level market revenue and donor growth, in addition to carrying its own discreet portfolio of prospects. Mid-Level giving range is defined as $1,000 to $24,999 and is the critical pipeline to major gifts for the organization.
This role is responsible for increasing revenue, retention and acquisition of individual giving donors through a strong partnership with market presidents and executive directors in addition to volunteer leaders. The role is expected to manage and coach staff in meeting their budgeted goals while managing a personal revenue goal and a shared team revenue goal.
1. Mid-Level Individual Giving Fundraising
- Assist VP of Individual Giving in collaboration with AVP of Major Giving and AVP of Donor Experience to implement a uniform, consistent process for planning, analysis, training and execution of mid-level individual giving across markets
- Directly supervise fundraising directors and lead the full mid-level team of 20 staff responsible for managing their portfolios and increasing revenue in markets
- Guide Directors to qualify their territory prospect lists, determine quarterly goals and monitor steps, process and journey toward gift closures
- Facilitate close collaboration between mid-level team, market leaders, and major gift officers to develop and promote strategies that support donor relationships at all levels and to produce revenue growth
- Establish protocols and signal budget needs for mid-level giving across the country to ensure alignment with the Society's fiscal year budget and plans; monitor team expenses and revenue; ensure appropriate controls are implemented and goals are met.
- Ensure the mid-level giving team uses tools and resources for planning donor receptions, cultivation strategies and solicitation and stewardship to ensure consistent and thoughtful outreach.
- Ensure understanding of and adherence to Individual Giving operational plans and processes and communicate areas of improvement for ongoing refinement
2. Active Portfolio Management
- Manage discreet portfolio of new and retained donors through meaningful interactions and execution of appropriate relationship building steps to increase Individual Giving revenue.
- Actively identify top relationships within portfolio to strategically align moves management plans.
- Engage with donors in a variety of ways to identify specific donor interests and deepen their connection to the organization.
- Participate in all relationship management meetings to facilitate collaboration.
- Work collaboratively with Individual Giving Staff, market leaders as well as key market volunteers to identify, cultivate and solicit donors.
- Leverage national donor cultivation and stewardship opportunities to increase meaningful donor interactions.
- Actively record and upload interactions for all assigned donors.
- Qualify prospects within prospect pool and assist Director in making team assignments.
- Regularly review budgets, financial reports and other meaningful reports to help ensure the team is meeting revenue and performance goals.
4. Volunteer Engagement
