 KEY OBJECTIVES The AVP, Global Procurement - Operations Category Management will be primarily responsible for the execution of Non-IT North American sourcing and overall category management activities, supporting up to $500MM in spend. This includes Professional Services, Data Management, Office Support, HR Services & Facilities, among others.  Also, the AVP, Global Procurement – Operations Category Management will provide general support for global initiatives, working closely with regional counterparts.  In addition, the candidate will be responsible for Chubb’s Corporate Supplier Diversity Program, promoting inclusion of diverse suppliers and Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) along with supporting reporting requirements as necessary.  The candidate may also be asked to support related company-wide diversity initiatives.  The successful candidate will be a strong negotiator, analytical thinker and an effective communicator, comfortable working in an international environment.      This position will report directly to the VP, Global Procurement – Sourcing & Operations and will be located in Philadelphia, Pa. Combination of domestic & international travel of 15%-20% expected   MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and executes category management activities, driving value through sourcing and overall supplier management of “owned” categories
  • Identifies and executes Strategic Sourcing Initiatives that leverage purchasing scale, new technologies, technical competencies, and enhance profitability and global competitiveness
  • Drives continual process improvement, assisting Senior Procurement Leadership with process optimization  and associated policy development
  • Responsible for supplier selection and qualification to include ensuring that the Company’s suppliers are capable of meeting exacting strategic, quality, supply continuity, technology, and commercial requirements.  This includes oversight of supplier diversity program and related reporting.
  • Leads complex and critical negotiations utilizing extensive professional knowledge and experience
  • Assesses contractual performance of major suppliers, initiates supplier improvement programs, manages and negotiates variations within and outside the scope of contracts while enforcing contract remedies where required
  • Builds and leverages relationships and networks across the organization and suppliers. Uses personal influence skills rather than position of power to persuade others and gain support.
  • Works closely with Senior Procurement Leadership in establishing priorities and executing on department goals

Qualifications

 REQUIREMENTS 

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Finance, or similar discipline
  • 10+ years of Procurement/Supply Chain experience within a best practice environment or related field
  • Must be able to work independently, and perform detailed work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrate candor; ability to respectfully challenge senior leadership

  • Strong collaborative skills, positive attitude, high energy
  • Comfort/familiarity with constructing presentations, organization communications, and business cases
  • Strong ability to build relationships and networks with multiple functions and at the leadership levels
  • Strong leadership, analytical capabilities and negotiation skills
  • Previous experience in leading and managing a team a plus
  • Strong presentation skills (both written and oral)
  • MBA and Spanish language proficiency preferred
  • CPM and CPSD designations desired
