Avionics / Sensor Mission Systems Field Engineer / ADVANCED Programs
Job Description :
The selected candidate will support a program deployed out of our excellent Palmdale CA facility home of our Skunk Works (Advanced Development Program) department.
Candidates must be willing to travel to and work at austere remote locations and accept assignment to locations for which selected, to support customer requirements.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport, accept customer furnished quarters and comply with mobility requirements such as chemical warfare training and receive applicable vaccinations, as well as pass an overseas physical.
In addition, the selected candidate will be subjected to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The candidate must agree to and successfully pass a polygraph examination.
Will be an integral member of the technical interface team, supporting the on-site Customer, resolving issues arising from operations and / or maintenance activities.
Accomplish fault analysis and resolution of avionic or sensor system and subsystem discrepancies experienced in the field. In addition, the Field Engineer must have knowledge of aircraft systems configurations.
Other desirable skills include software background and education.
Considered an overall expert with technical knowledge of aircraft avionics or sensor systems, system operation and system performance. An integral member of the technical team responsible for overseeing a complex avionics mission systems and networks during operations.
Confers with the technical team regarding concerns about any system’s operation and is responsible for troubleshooting and providing solutions to abnormal technical conditions.
Attend debriefings, as required, to aid in the rapid identification of emerging issues. Document operational / maintenance problems, even if they are resolved on-site, to ensure that the company is apprised of and can identify failure trends. Will be required to operate, service and maintain support equipment.
Identify unique operational problems that require technical, procedural, or quality assurance actions to resolve. Provide training, as requested, to customer personnel.
In addition, the Avionics / Sensor Mission System Field Engineer should have knowledge of network systems configuration; familiarity with Ethernet network protocols, directing network systems installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
Maintains network performance by building net configurations and connections; troubleshooting network problems; scheduling upgrades; and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
Must be able to work with and interact with the customer as well as program engineers.
The selected candidate must be able to work and communicate well, both orally and written, in a team environment as this position involves significant and continued interface with customer personnel at all levels.
Manage and track multiple engineering and logistics support activities, providing periodic status to customer and program management.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.”
Seven or more years of experience in:
Experience in Avionics and or Sensor systems.
-Must have active Top Secret with a Background investigation within five years to start and the ability to obtain a Top Secret SCI clearance.
- Five years experience with extensive Customer interface in a field environment
- Discrepancy analysis / resolution at the system and subsystem level. 5 plus Years Experience
- Drawing / schematic reading / interpretation & fault isolation. 5 Plus Years Experience
- Sensor system and or operation experience
LAN Knowledge / Proxy Servers

- Must be willing to travel, work any shift, weekends and holidays to meet customer requirements
