  • Supports concept development for complex products and features, including technical market research on emerging technologies.
  • Maintains product-specific execution plans for system-level aspects compatible with Garmin processes
  • Identifies, documents, and coordinates technical aspects for development of new interfaces / functionality or changes to existing complex system functionality to support market-driven or specific customer requirements
  • Creates system requirements, supporting rationale, technical description documentation, and performs trade-off analysis
  • Improves processes, tools, and procedures
  • With some guidance, coordinates technical roadmaps
  • Exemplifies Garmin’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Quality Policy and proactively works to improve Garmin’s image and culture

Qualifications

Qualified candidate possess a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or similar field from a four-year college or university AND a minimum of 2 year relevant experience

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Masters degree in the fields noted above and 2 years relevant experience in product development or systems engineering
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge in systems engineering and product development
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
