Our aviation systems are taking off, so we’re looking to board an Aviation Advanced Solutions Engineer. As an Advanced Solutions Engineer, you will facilitate product concept exploration and innovation engineering solutions. You will explore new and existing technologies to identify integration opportunities with our current and future aviation products. We are looking for outside-the-box thinkers that bring creative solutions to complex avionics systems.   • Leads concept development for complex products and features, including technical market research on emerging technologies.
  • Establishes product-specific execution plans for system-level aspects compatible with Garmin processes, including discussions with external customers
  • Identifies, documents, and coordinates technical aspects for development of new interfaces / functionality or changes to existing complex system functionality to support market-driven or specific customer requirements
  • Creates system requirements, supporting rationale, technical description documentation, and performs trade-off analysis
  • Proactively improves processes, tools, and procedures
  • Coordinates technical roadmaps
  • Exemplifies Garmin’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Quality Policy and proactively works to improve Garmin’s image and culture


Qualified candidates for this role will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or similar field from a four-year college or university AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Master's degree in the field noted above and 3 years of relevant experience in product development or systems engineering
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Pilot's license
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team-oriented - possess a positive attitude and work well with others
