Role Summary:
The Sr Architect plays a key role in building a holistic view and an implementation roadmap for the technology and application landscape as we transition to cloud enablement. The Sr Architect needs to align the cloud architecture with the overall Volkswagen Platform architecture.
Role Responsibilities:
Enterprise Architecture Management (50%)
- Manage Standards for cloud technologies
- Participates in Development architecture work groups
- Introduces, provides and reviews architectural work in local projects in a joint approach with the local companies based on secure Architecture Development Method
- Makes recommendations, gains approval, and develops implementation strategies for new technologies based on necessity
- Monitors companies information quality in planning IT (VW Group standard tool for EAM), traces the data optimization and supports the companies as a key user for the tool
- API surface area definition and service composability
- Ensure the architectural fit of the software produced by the VW Automotive Cloud LLC with the rest of the Volkswagen Platforms
- Ensure the cloud services can be integrated in Volkswagen group vehicles
- Ensure an environment for continuous development and deployment
- Ensure permanent optimization of the overall architecture due to permanent changing requirement
Technology Management (50%)
- Support Technology Lifecycle decisions
- Develops Enterprise Solution Strategies
- Creates project proposals for enterprise capabilities and presents to Management
- Provides leadership support for strategic projects in the region to insure alignment with group, guidelines
- Shares best practices and ensures communication among the countries
- Define a robust API framework
- Define system wide monitoring strategy
Required Relevant Experience:
Minimum of 10+ years IT experience mainly in the area of System Design, Enterprise Architecture with focus on emerging Cloud technologies. Automotive and business processes experience preferred.
Required Education:
- Bachelor in MIS Computer Science or Business Administration
Desired Education:
- Master in MIS Computer Science or Business Administration
