Automation Tester- Ruby-on-Rails at BrickRed Systems in Vancouver, BC

• Ruby-on-Rails mandatory with automation experience

• Should able to devise Test Strategy, write & review test plans, traceability matrix and ensure usage of tools for optimization.

• Should have very Strong Testing fundamentals

• Should be able to ensure the availability of test environment, design tests and defect reporting formats

• Ability to understand the use cases for automation and advise the client on the right solution

• Should update project related data as required in applicable systems and ensure timely reporting and response to stakeholders.

• Proficient in bug tracking and test management toolsets (JIRA, GIT, Jenkins, Test Rails)

• Experience in using GIT for source code version control and of best practice branching strategies

• Must have good coding and hands-on test automation experience in Ruby-on-Rails, Selenium, Cucumber

• Experience with test automation reporting tools e.g. Cucumber Reports

• Good exposure on one scripting language

• Knowledge of UI automation frameworks

• Experience in BDD (Behavior Driven Development)/TDD (Test Driven Development) process

• Able to define and capture metrics to evaluate test automation

• Excellent communication skills and customer handling capability

• Should be good Team player - highly proactive, eager to support your colleagues when needed

• Knowledge or basic experience of agile development processes is a great plus

• Knowledge of software engineering lifecycle process is a plus

• A proven ability to pick up and learn a wide range of new technologies and topics
